MONEY 101 for TEENS
Part of our outreach includes early education for high school students. As we know, most high school students learn very little about retirement options while in high school. In fact, most learn very little about basic personal economics and money, so they are left to figure it out for themselves or they learn from their parents. In these days of economic turmoil, we CANNOT let it be by chance that kids learn about certain valuable economic concepts. If we allow that to happen, they could be in financial trouble before they even realize what went wrong.
The goal of our seminars is to empower teenagers to make educated, brain-based economic decisions in both the short-term and long-term. Through effective education we can arm students with tools they can use the rest of their lives!
Some of the topics we cover include:
- Time value of money (compound interest)
- Good credit vs bad credit
- Hazzards of bad credit
- Planning for post-high school year (college, employment, military)
- Economic and financial terminology
